1 John 2
1 My little children, these things I write unto you, that I sin not. And if I sin, I have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for my sins: and not for mine only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby I do know that I know him, if I keep his commandments.
4 If I saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, I am a liar, and the truth is not in me.
5 but when I keepeth his word, in me verily is the love of God perfected: hereby I know that I am in him and he in me.
6 If I saith I abideth in him I ought also so to walk, even as he walked, by preaching the kingdom of God and healing the sick and setting the captives free. Because the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Even as Christ did.
7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
8 Again, a new commandment I write, which this thing is true, I am in him and he in me: because the darkness is past when I accepted Christ, and the true light now shineth in my heart.
9 If I saith I am in the light, and hateth my brother, I am in darkness even until now.
10 If I loveth my brother I abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in ne.
11 But if I hateth my brother I am in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither I goeth, because that darkness hath blinded my eyes.
12 I write unto, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
13 I write unto, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto, little children, because ye have known the Father.
14 I have written unto, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever and that will is to look like Jesus and walk and talk as a child of God.
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby I know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20 But I have an unction from the Holy One, and I know all things.
21 I have not written unto you because I know not the truth, but because I know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son, ye cannot honor the Father and not the Son, nor can any honor the Son and not the Father.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And you shall walk as He walked, because the Father is in Him also.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, eternal life that dwells in us because we have the Spirit to preach the Kingdom and the Lord will confirm His word with signs following.
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you and try to deceive you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence and boldness, and not be ashamed by not doing the Fathers will before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 John 3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon me, that I should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth me not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now am I the son of God, and it doth not yet appear what I shall be: but I know that, when he shall appear, I shall be like him and talk like him and walk like him; for I shall see him living in me.
3 And I hath this hope in me and I purifieth myself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And I know that he was manifested to take away my sins; and in him is no sin. And no sin is in me, now that he is in me.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive me: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. So even as he was sent, so am I sent as a Child of God to destroy the works of the devil also.
9 I am born of God I doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in me: and he cannot sin, because I am born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message that I heard from the beginning, that I should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 I know that I have passed from death unto life, because I love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16 Hereby I perceive the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and I ought to lay down my life for the brethren.
17 But if I hath this world's good, and seeth my brother have need, and shutteth up my bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in me?
18 My little children, let me not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby I know that I am of the truth, and shall assure my heart before him.
20 For if my heart condemn me, God is greater than my heart, and knoweth all things.
21 Beloved, if my heart condemn me not, I then have confidence toward God.
22 And whatsoever I ask, I receive of him, because I keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 And this is his commandment, That I should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ who dwells in me and lives through me again by his resurrection power, and that I love one another, as he gave me the commandment.
24 And if I keepeth his commandments I dwelleth in him, and he in me. And hereby I know that he abideth in me, by the Spirit which he hath given me.
