Matthew 5
1 And seeing the multitudes, I went up into a mountain: and when I was set, my disciples came unto me:
2 And I opened my mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 I am blessed when I am poor in spirit: for mine is the kingdom of heaven.
4 I am blessed when I mourn: for I shall be comforted.
5 I am blessed when I am meek: for I shall inherit the earth.
6 I am blessed when I do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for I shall be filled.
7 I am blessed when I am merciful: for I shall obtain mercy.
8 I am blessed cause I am pure in heart: for I shall see God.
9 I am blessed when I am a peacemaker: for I shall be called a child of God.
10 I am blessed when I am persecuted for righteousness' sake: for mine is the kingdom of heaven.
11 I am blessed, when men shall revile me, and persecute me, and shall say all manner of evil against me falsely, for Christ sake.
12 I rejoice, and am exceeding glad: for great is my reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before me.
13 I am the salt of the earth: but if I have lost my savour, wherewith shall I be salted? I would then be good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under the foot of men.
14 I am the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do I light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; for I am the light unto all that are in the house.
16 I let my light so shine before men, that they may see my good works, and glorify my Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 If I therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, I shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but if I shall do and teach them, I shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except my righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, I shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 I have heard that it was said by them of old time, I shall not kill; and if I shall kill I shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say now, that if I am angry with my brother, without a cause, I shall be in danger of the judgment: and if I shall say to my brother, Raca, I shall be in danger of the council: but if I shall say, Thou fool, I shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if I bring my gift to the altar, and there rememberest that my brother hath ought against me;
24 I should leave my gift before the altar, and go my way; but first I should be reconciled to my brother, and then I come and offer my gift.
25 I agree with mine adversary quickly, on this earth, whiles I am in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver me to the judge, and the judge deliver me to the officer, and I be cast into prison.
26 Verily I say unto thee, I shalt by no means come out thence, in this life, till I have paid the uttermost farthing. It shall not be so in the next life.
27 I have heard that it was said by them of old time, I shall not commit adultery:
28 But I say, That if I looketh on a woman to lust after her, I hath committed adultery with her already in my heart.
29 And if my brothers offend me, I should cast them from me: for it is profitable for me that one of my members, in Christ, should perish, and not that the whole body of Christ, be cast into hell.
30 And if my sisters offend me, I cast them from me: for it is profitable for me that one of my members, in the church, should perish, and not that the whole church body should be cast into hell.
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That if I shall put away my wife, saving for the cause of fornication, I causeth her to commit adultery: and if I shall marry her that is divorced I committeth adultery.
33 Again, I have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear unto myself, but I shalt perform unto the Lord mine oaths:
34 But I say unto you, I swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither shalt I swear by my head, because who can make one hair white or black.
37 But I let my communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38 I have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That I resist not evil: but if you shall smite me on my right cheek, I will turn to you the other also.
40 And if any man will sue me at the law, and take away my coat, I will let him have my cloke also.
41 And whosoever shall compel me to go a mile, I will go with him twain.
42 I give to him that asketh of me, and from him that would borrow of me, I turn not away.
43 I have heard that it hath been said, I shalt love my neighbour, and hate mine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, I love my enemies, I bless them that curse me, and do good to them that hate me, and pray for them which despitefully use me, and persecute me;
45 That I may be the child of my Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if I love them which love me, what reward do I have? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if I salute my brethren only, what do I more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 I am therefore perfect, even as my Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 6
1 I take heed that I do not my alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise I have no reward of my Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when I doest my alms, I do not sound a trumpet before me, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that I may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, If I do that, I have received my reward already.
3 But when I doest alms, I let not my best friend know what I doeth:
4 That my alms may be in secret: and my Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward me openly.
5 And when I prayest, I am not as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.
6 But, when I prayest, I enter into my closet, and when I have shut my door, I pray to my Father which is in secret; and my Father which seeth me in secret shall reward me openly.
7 But when I pray, I don't use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: For I keep my words few: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. I know my Father always hear me.
8 I am not therefore like unto them: for my Father knoweth what things I have need of, before I ask him and He has already provided a way for all my prayers to be answered.
9 But after this manner I pray: My Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be his name.
10 Your kingdom come. And your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. (No sickness or sin in heaven, so there should be no sickness or sin on earth also. That is Gods will for the earth.)
11 Give me this day my daily bread.
12 And forgive me, my debts, as I forgive my debtors.
13 And lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if I forgive men their trespasses, my heavenly Father will also forgive me:
15 But if I forgive not men their trespasses, neither will my Father forgive my trespasses.
16 Moreover when I fast, I am not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They already have received their reward.
17 But, when I fastest, I anoint mine head, and wash my face;
18 That I appear not unto men to fast, but unto my Father which is in secret: and my Father, which seeth me in secret, shall reward me openly.
19 I lay not up for myself treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But I lay up for myself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where my treasure is, there will my heart be also.
22 The light of my body is my eye: if therefore mine eye be single, my whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if mine eye be evil, my whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in me be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 I can not serve two masters: for either I will hate the one, and love the other; or else I will hold to the one, and despise the other. I cannot serve God and hold something else in higher esteem.
25 Therefore I say unto you, I take no thought for my life, what I shall eat, or what I shall drink; nor yet for my body, what shall I put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet my heavenly Father feedeth them. Am I not much better than they?
27 If I have a thought, to add one cubit unto my stature, can I?
28 And why do I take thought for raiment? I consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe me, if I don’t trust God, I have no faith?
31 Therefore I take no thought, saying, What shall I eat? or, What shall I drink? or, Wherewithal shall I be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for my heavenly Father knoweth that I have need of all these things.
33 But I seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness that He gives freely; and all these things shall be added unto me.
34 I take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof, yet in all this I walk as a Son of God.
Matthew 7
1 I judge not, that I be not judged.
2 For with what judgment I judge, I shall be judged: and with what measure I mete, it shall be measured to me again.
3 And why should I beholdest the splinter that is in my brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in mine own eye?
4 Or how wilt I say to my brother, Let me pull out the splinter out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in mine own eye?
5 I am no hypocrite, because I first cast out the beam out of mine own eye; and then shalt I see clearly to cast out the splinter out of my brother's eye.
6 I give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast my pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend me.
7 When I ask, it shall be given to me; when I seek, and I shall find; and when I knock, it shall be opened unto me:
8 For when I asketh I receiveth; and when I seeketh I findeth; and when I knocketh it shall be opened unto me.
9 Or if my son ask me for bread, will I give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask for a fish, will I give him a serpent?
11 If I then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto my children, how much more shall my Father which is in heaven give good things to me when I ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever I would that men should do to me, I do even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 I enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, I will be with the few that find it.
15 I beware of false prophets, which come to me in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 I shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by the fruits that the false prophets do produce, I shall recognize them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Even as I came to do my Fathers will.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, everyone that works iniquity.
24 Whenever I heareth these sayings of Christ, and doeth them, I will be liken unto a wise man, which built my house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon my house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And if I heareth these sayings of Christ, and doeth them not, I shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built my house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon my house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when I had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at my doctrine:
29 For I taught them as one having authority, by saying that those whoever become children of God can do what I have done on the earth also, by healing and setting people free in Jesus name, and not as the scribes say, that only some are anointed to do those things..
